Our program is placement-based. These answers explain what families should expect before requesting an evaluation.
Do you offer recreational gymnastics classes?
Princeton Gymnastics is not structured as a traditional recreational class facility. Our program is evaluation-based and built around developmental, team, and competitive-focused training.
Does my child need previous gymnastics experience?
Not always. Some athletes come to us with prior training, while others are evaluated for developmental placement. We look at readiness, not just previous experience.
How does placement work?
Placement begins with an evaluation. Our coaches consider current skills, confidence, coachability, and group fit before recommending a training path.
Can my gymnast transfer from another gym?
Yes. Competitive transfers are welcome to contact us or submit an evaluation request. Prior level, current training, and program fit are reviewed before placement is offered.
Do all gymnasts compete?
Not immediately. Competition depends on placement and readiness. We believe athletes should compete when they are prepared to do so safely and confidently.
How many hours do gymnasts train?
Training hours vary by group and track. Families receive schedule information after evaluation and placement recommendation.
Do you publish tuition?
No. Tuition is provided after placement because training hours vary by level, group, and track. Competitive gymnastics is not a one-size-fits-all class structure.
What should my gymnast wear to evaluation?
A leotard or fitted athletic clothing is best. Hair should be pulled back securely, and jewelry should be removed.
What happens after evaluation?
Our team reviews the evaluation and determines whether an appropriate placement is available. If placement is offered, families receive the recommended group, schedule, tuition, and registration instructions.
What if my gymnast is not offered a spot?
Not every athlete is the right fit for every program at every stage. If we do not believe Princeton Gymnastics is the right placement at that time, we will communicate that respectfully.
